The
C.Root-Server,
located in Paris, France, was deployed in June 2008 and
provides resolution to the Public Root. The C.Root-Server guarantees
the performance and stability of Internet services in Western Europe.
Paris is an excellent location for a Public-Root Server because
of the cities Internet POP (Point of presence). This server will
provide extra resiliency and redundancy to the Eurpean Internet Backbone.
C.Root-Server will also serve to reduce DNS response time for
the larger part of Europe
.
Steven Pecq,
President of Hdmweb France and Root-Operator of the C.Root-Server,
said, "I am proud to be a
part
of the
Public-Root, providing resolution for the Inclusive
Name Space anywhere in the world."
