The
J.Root-Server,
located in Singapore, was deployed in February 2005 and provides
resolution for the whole Inclusive Name Space. The j.Root-Server
guarantees performance and stability of Internet services in Asia.
This Root-Server will provide extra resiliency in resolution to
China, India and Australia in the event of a loss of physical
connectivity to the rest of the Internet. This server will also
reduce DNS response time for a large part of the Far East.
Frank Cheng,
the Root-Operator of the J.Root-Servers says: "By supporting
the public DNS, Singapore demonstrates
its independence and progressiveness and is (again) setting an
example for the rest of the world." |
